I have noted a recent increase in stories about women being the victims of sexual crimes due to online dating apps at the same time the Online Safety Bill is being debated. There is a push by feminists to lobby the Government to expand requirements to keep users safe to online dating operators as well, with operator managers facing jail thanks to Sunak surrendering to rebels yesterday.
I have also seen at least one article, there are probably more, covering the "manosphere" and how Government need to keep people safe from their "radicalisation" into "misogyny". Again, coincidental timing.
Staying on the Online Safety Bill, Labour wishes to introduce an amendment which will ban VPN usage in the UK. What will likely happen is a compromise, where VPNs will have to implement the new measures or face being banned from operating and funding by any means will be a criminal offence. That will make it impossible for paid for VPNs to function and the free ones will become overwhelmed, if not blocked at ISP level.
Between the Online Safety Bill, Protection from Sex-based Harassment in Public Bill, Public Order Bill and other proposals and amendments in the pipeline, things are going to get grim in the UK.

Women always have incredibly lucky timing. They truly have the luck of the proverbial who spawned them.
