And yet on the subject that actually got them shit-canned, the invasion of Iraq, they were correct (for the wrong reasons) and he was wrong (but well-intentioned).
True, but Toby was more of a "support our troops" kind of guy than a shill for the Iraq war. He also has an old school respect for the the presidency as an institution, particularly in its role as commander in chief. That's why he got pissed off at the Dixie Whores, and of course they went after him personally for a song that was about the Afghanistan war, which was far more justified (albeit prosecuted horribly). Toby isn't very political, but he is a huge patriot. The only reason the latter gets confused for being the former is because we've made the mistake of tolerating an entire political movement dedicated to treason.
