I think technically he's a professor emeritus.

The University of Toronto HR department essentially made him go on paid leave as soon as his 15 minutes of fame started.

Years later they negotiated some sort of settlement with him so they could officially strike him off their roster.

Ironically he made videos about a year ago of him cleaning and emptying out his cramped and messy faculty office.
