I still like Gabriel's original suggestion in the Book of Enoch: Let the Earth run red with the blood of heathens.

Unfortunately, God didn't want to see the freaks fighting the angels and detested the thought of all his creations killing each other in a global battle royale (also because apparently Nephilim were capable of killing angels?)
