KiA2 on Reddit does have to be nearly as retarded as KIA1 unfortunately. Both of us are so outside the Overton Window of Reddit at this point that we might as well both be on the same distant planet.
The first 2 years of activity of the reddit kia2 had higher quality discussion than both current iterations, but I find that parallel to a good multiplayer game having a better spread of players (smoother skill distribution) during its first 2 years and more willing to explore and experiment. This community still converses in good faith, with the exception of some misuse of the downvote button, but the reddit-like sorting mechanism just has its limits.
I noticed a few more disagreeable people wandering in, but not much other than that. I will say that even during the privatization there's been a clear change in political tone between the two sites. This one's more black-pilled and tolerant of fringe believes, the Reddit one is more center-right.
I'll backtrack from the above. I made that comment when I was still annoyed over the soft-reopening of the board. Still slightly annoyed but is it the end of the world? No lol
Mulling over it, I really don't have much reason to complain considering I've been posting a lot more over here than in reddit's KIA2 barring post submissions.

It's gone downhill since yall took it off private. Ffs it wasn't even really closed, it just took a modicum of effort.
I've been moderately disappointed to see the quality of discussion is better here than there post reopening.

How so?

It was, but it's not that bad. We just ignore them.
