With an economic downturn, the white knights in companies will hire the little princesses, because they've perpetuated the myth both culturally and memetically that this group is in the most need of help under such circumstances.

Vice versa, they think that the guys will be able to find new jobs, whereas the little princesses (persecuted by the evil white boy's club for thousands of years!) have fewer chances.
