tl;dr - Watch it if you like war stuff. Good acting, production value, and (almost) no agenda pushing.

spoiler free summary:

Set in the British army during the WWII Africa campaign, a few officers are unhappy with the bureaucratic and unimaginative direction in which the war is being fought. They contrive to build a unit that is free from red-tape constraints and regulations to fight the war as they see fit. The "rogue heros" consist of the misfits, discipline problems, and borderline psychopaths who can't work under normal military regimentation. They are "off-the-books" and free take insane risks toward execution of their missions.

Opinion:

It is such a breath of fresh air to watch a show about exclusively white men being smart, competent, and heroic. The characters aren't mary sues in that they get hurt and fail and have issues but despite those they get the job one. The show isn't apologizing for "colonialism" or the British Empire and the enemy Germans and Italians aren't unnecessarily demonized. This is an actually good show that came out in 2022.

spoiler filled details ahead:

the categories are rated 0 to 5 with with a lower score being better and 3+ pushing unwatchable

feminism - 0.0: The show is basically all men doing manly things. A female supporting character "intelligence officer" is shoehorned in and she becomes the main's love interest. No women fight, shoot, or otherwise behave in a manly fashion.

faggotry - 1.0: Another side-character "intelligence officer" is shown non-nonchalantly removing cross-dressing makeup and wig when he is first introduced. It isn't stated whether its for a fetish or for an OP. He is implied to be gay but that doesn't have any plot relevance.

diversity - 0.0: Should probably be a negative. All of the main characters and most of the supporting cast is white! No blacks until later episodes where a mixed French unit is integrated into the original crew, and they only have a couple of lines.

subversion - 0.0: Didn't notice any anti-white, anti-west, anti-Christian messaging. The men are tough and brave and have great friendships with each other without being gay about it. The fight is portrayed as just but the enemy isn't shown as "pure evil" for the hell of it. In fact there is sympathy for them, but that doesn't stop the machine guns.
