I'd put them more as Mediterranean than black even though in Africa, same with every part connected to that sea. Just because you share the same continent doesn't mean you're all the same just look at the Japan/ Chinese difference or Eastern Europe/Western Europe difference.
It is funny though seeing them try to claim their works as African culture though.
