She doesn't like carolers (she's never encountered a real one but TV told her to so she does) and the name Karen sounds kind of like caroler and has an association with "bad" in her low IQ mind.

Dead on. She doesn't even know what Karen means, she just knows she's been taught to hate it. It's the same way literally anything a leftist doesn't like is "fascism". The man on TV said fascism is bad, thus anything bad is fascism.
