I reject that a Leftist dialectic and the balkanization that causes is "problem solving".
The problem with calling each other slurs is that it creates an incredibly pathological environment that people don't want to engage in. Decorum in necessary, certainly with each other, in order to avoid unnecessary flame wars that serve only to damage the forum and people in it.

You're admitting that the presence of slurs acts as an effective means of gatekeeping.
Flame wars and trolling in moderation is part of a healthy online ecosystem and you will never convince me otherwise because you'd be wrong to assert such.
Not every forum is for everyone and that's fine. It's desirable even.
The presence of slurs absolutely acts as gate keeping, Poal is an excellent example of that. But it's dangerously repulsive to most normal people. It's like having an anti-abortion forum that forces each member to regularly watch a late-term botched abortion, or to watch a baby be left to die on a table. Yes, it gatekeeps, but it's also fundamentally awful, even to those who agree with you, which damages the possibilities of growth.
Trolling in moderation yes. It's why Haterjuiced managed to keep himself from getting banned. Flame Wars, no. Flame Wars don't serve a good purpose beyond damaging the forum generally with hate & discontent among the users. There are no moderate Flame Wars anyway.
It gatekeeps problem solving. Abolishing rule 15 would gatekeep leftism by allowing everyone to call them niggerfaggots until they fled.
