DnD and pathfinder forums did have a more woke bent before the world was crazy woke. I remember discussion on some pathfinder forums on how this race of apes was racist because it lived in a jungle that at the south of the more european centered region - hence it must be africa and those apes must be black people. This people do not see how racist they sound. I also remember discussions on how DnD hell was misogynistic because it had more male rulers then female - it was so much talk about it that I think they changed it now to be more on par. And this was old stuff, I was just brushing it off some crazy quirky fans that cared to much, I did not realize that it was just the woke infiltrating the hobby.

DnD also tends to attract more left leaning types because the role playing part of it allows some of them to be their "true selves" or other such nonsense. Previously It attracted a more Christian influenced crowd since you could play as a virtuous paladin that battled devils, demons and came in the defense of the weak. Now evil is problematic, is so problematic that in BG3 they removed alignments entirely. Races are also problematic because orcs and a race of monkey people are considered metaphors for black people - yes really, is as racist as it sounds.

It's a mess, fortunately no one can force you to play by their rules and there are even some old school alternatives. The amount of material out there to play AD&D or even 3.5 rules is more then you will reasonably play in your life time.
