I disagree to an extent. I don't think there's anything wrong with having specialty app stores that only "stock" apps within their niche - like only having child-safe apps in your curated child-safe app store. But Apple shouldn't be abusing their vertical integration by saying that if you bought an Apple device then you can only download apps that actively enforce Apple's ideology.

That’s a fair point, if side loading is allowed as well as alternative app stores, then the need for a neutral App Store becomes much less necessary.
That's exactly Apple's point, isn't it?
It's not your iPhone, never was. Apple just let you rent it for a while.
