The nationalists actually lost 1 seat and the DPP also lost 1 seat. There was basically no change from the status quo. The DPP picked up council seats and the KMT lost them.
Not sure why the Putin/CCP types are heralding this as some kind of loss for globalism or something. It's a local taiwanese election, and the taiwanese are more against "reunification" aka CCP conquest now more than ever.
