How long has humanity been fighting these bugs?

How many light years did that rock travel?

Given where Klendathu is shown to be, and how we have no reason to believe it was fired at FTL or even relativistic speeds, it would have taken centuries to reach Earth.

If they haven't been at war for centuries, why would Klendathu have any reason whatsoever to target Earth?

The story is bullshit.
