Not like this place has Reddit tos to be cautious about. Seems like unnecessary rules to be able for mod to remove whatever it wants.

You've got it backwards, handshake.
Rules don't give mods the power to ban people, they could do that with no rules at all.
Rules stop mods from arbitrarily banning people (ostensibly) or at least make corruption obvious.
Rules only work when followed and enforced consistently. This also requires the rules to not be subjective too.
