GG was more of a community's vocal reaction to having progressivism pushed onto them, against their will. Progressives (like Christians) believe their morality is objective and universal. Not adhering to their morality is a crime of the highest order which you will be brutally punished for.
The fact is the progressives has won. This is their country now. This is their society. There really isn't anywhere to run to. No real frontier where you can be free.
