I considered buying it but held back. I watched a lot of gameplay. My assessment was that the core gameplay looked good, but the open world does not. It's empty except for the spattered ramps, floating rails, and bounce bumpers. Trees, grass, rocks, water. That's it. There's the occasional stone tower dropped onto the map with a collectable at the top. There are few enemies (gameplay from September had NO enemies in it, leading me to think they're completely tacked on) and what few boss enemies it showed looked like absolute shit with PS2 grade models.
So they went open world which is new to Sonic (and Team Sonic, apparently) but did very little with it. The rest is bog-standard Sega-effort unevolved mediocrity.
