I am very worried about what is happening in my country. The current government is also busy trying to push through "co-governance" which basically means that the elected government will be forced to "co-govern" with Māori tribal elites.
I am strongly considering moving, maybe to Australia. They are pretty fucked too but at least they have state law and federal law, so hopefully moving to a conservative leaning state will be better than staying in NZ.
Not to blackpill you, but… I… Wouldn’t come here, dude, if I were you.
I know it’s relatively easy for Kiwis to migrate, but where are you thinking? QLD (like the majority of expats)? WA??
Neither has a government that I would describe as in any way “conservative-leaning”. Hell, the most “conservative” state government at this point is NSW, and look how fucked they are!!
I really… Don’t know how to change that direction, or whether there is any chance of that turning around, in the near future…
Honestly, while it will be more difficult, I would look at Visas to elsewhere, particularly if you are under 35…
Ireland and the UK will likely be easiest, but you’ve got a New Zealand passport. No one hates you guys (as yet). You literally have the best passport in the world, when it comes to having the widest choice of “options” for this purpose.
I would do that, rather than coming to this (increasingly a) hellhole.
Also, you can go to the Cook Islands, without needing a Visa, I suspect. I realise that won’t “free you of the yoke” that is Ardern and co, but hey, you’re at least slightly removed from her direct rule, if you do that. And it honestly looks pretty great there, from all I’ve seen (if you can do remote work, or something).
Yeah was thinking QLD. I've known Aussie to be pretty bad but was hoping that at least in some areas it t could be better than what NZ is turning into. The situation in the UK seems pretty fucked too, so I really don't know anymore.
I like the Cook Islands, been there on holiday. Wonder if that is viable to at least escape the immediate clutches of Ardern and her communist pals...

It is already in place in some areas too, for example: https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/on-air/heather-du-plessis-allan-drive/opinion/heather-du-plessis-allan-the-unfolding-tuhoe-case-is-an-example-of-why-co-governance-doesnt-work/

Just some ideas, anyway!!
