and also so far two "news' articles complaining about her being straight as well"

They are updating Bayonetta for a modern audience. The previous ones weren't very good anyways. Such toxic reaction to basic representation is a symptom of a wider problem within the gayming community, a community infested with fascism, sexism and heterophobia.
