There was some zooming in to make relatively minor gains look yuge.
All the territory you boomers crow about Ukraine taking back was strategically worthless farmland and cow-country basically. Russia withdrew because they felt no need to sacrifice lives to protect NOTHING- because winning a war is more about destroying the other army than taking useless land.
Is this true? I know some strategic locations were taken, but how much did the puppet country lose and was it worth it?
It's good that hawks are demanding a more serious war effort.
If by puppet country you mean the Kharkov People's Republic, it ceased to exist before it could be restored after it was originally destroyed literally overnight in 2014.
More importantly and the fake countries aside, Izyum was Russia's military center of every sort for the entire Northern front. Which itself barely even exist anymore after being rolled up, and it's now more like an extension of the Eastern front. It used to go continously through the entire northern Ukraine.
Nice to see you openly supporting warmongering and stopping pretending you're "anti-war". And that's a funny thing, the same people who just recently used to pretend to fare about the supposedly "Russian" population of Kharkiv, so waiting for them with flowers (they didn't), now call for the total destruction of this huge city after giving a "24 or 48 hours" warning in revenge for the people of Kharkiv turning against and beating back the invaders (even Yanukovych's own former regional boss in Kharkiv has joined the territorial defense) and since then having renamed everything Russian (which they haven't done 2014-2022, they even had Moscow Street where a bunch of Russian police commandos were wasted on like the second day) and even stopped talking Russian.
I've never pretended to be 'anti-war'. I just think this war is stupid, unnecessary and retarded, which is why the EU, US and NATO should not have provoked it.
8 years of propaganda is not overcome overnight.
Well, let's see what happens when Russia takes Kharkov. It was the former Soviet capital, after all.
And now it's the Hero-City of Ukraine, injured and scarred after months of rocket blitz in which more than 1,000 residents died in random attacks and half of population of 1.4 million turned into refugees. And your besties talked about erasing it from the map today.
