His basic economics book was funnily enough halfway through my enjoyment of his intellect. The book that first got me hooked was Black Redneck and White Liberals which shattered the liberal mockery of “southern rednecks” that people like John Stewart cultivated in my mind. Funnily enough my military experience with people from different areas showed the wisdom of that book.
One of the best parts of black rednecks was his summary of the world history of slavery. I’ve referenced that countless times. Too bad he never wrote a long form book on that. Would be good for people who grew up I. The west to get some perspective
It’s one of the reasons I use my Slavic heritage as a cudgel. The insanity currently perpetrated for racial “equity” completely ignores the larger history of humanity and sadly the only way to create some semblance of sanity is to use my racial history to show it wasn’t just “whitey” colonizing.
You’ve piqued my curiosity on Sowell with this dialogue you two have going. Definitely going to check this author out. Thanks.
