After looking into it more, this guy was very smart. Every community he created around his mod was moderated by only him. He can't be kicked out of any of them. Had he made the mistake of letting well-intention-seeming associates in to mod his communities - he would have found himself out on his ass. Even his subreddit has only him as the mod.
Update: Subreddit was nuked. All posts in that subreddit have been deleted or privated.
Second Update: Looks back, and Lenny Lennington (the guy in question) purged all other admins. He doesn't waste much time, hes back to work on the mod.
Shitlibs should be removed from every position where they have any power at all.

A year later and they run everything, anyone who disagrees gets removed and the entire thing is now a circlejerk like /r/nba.
I can't imagine how spineless and pathetic the original mods are for not standing up for themselves.
