Women's wrestling has been a thing since Mildred Burke. Mojeek her.
Is this about Anthony Bowens? He didn't become a tag champion because he's gay. He became a tag champion because he and Max Caster earned it. No one in that company gets a job solely BECAUSE they're gay.
CM Punk will never wrestle again. Ever. He showed his true colors after AEW All Out 2022, punching Trump voters and throwing a chair at them. Now the AEW locker room leader is Chris Jericho, who is not only a Trump voter, but a Trump DONOR. Thousands of dollars.
You sound like CM Punk. "Fucking dumb fuck like Hangman Adam Page," etc.
I think the women's wrestling thing he's referring to is that it's given disproportionate 'prestige' for the true popularity of it (I can't say whether that's true).
It may, by extension, mean some talents get pushed more or higher despite fan interest, just because "look at our fabulous alphabet rainbow representation!!!!!" That's more of a theory.
Other possible issues that could be interpreted as 'woke' would probably include 'stories/characters/matches they could do in the past that they can't now.'
That's reasonable. But again, AEW has only one women's match per two-hour show, and Reddit claims that's too low.
In AEW, people don't get pushed unless they get popular. Just look what happened with the Nightmare Collective in the company's first few months--the fans revolted so hard that they just dropped the angle dead, mid-story, instead of ramming it down our throats like WWE did with Katie Vick.
"Now they main event?" Since when? On AEW, they get one match per two-hour show. One match in two hours. And in three years on the air, over 150 episodes, it's been the main event maybe twice--and one of those was regarded as a fantastic match, namely Thunder Rosa vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. The latter uses clips from it in her entrance video to this day.
Yep, you don't watch the product. If you did, you'd know that if it was a priority, they'd be getting a lot more TV time--which they're not, because it drives viewers away, and they know it. That's why Sonny Kiss was once off television for twenty-three months in a row. No one cares. And his contract's expiring soon as well.
Again: CM Punk is jee oh enn ee. GONE. He destroyed his OWN career, and tried to physically take down a pair of Trump voters with him--it took the aforementioned Trump DONOR, the very non-woke Chris Jericho, to take control of the situation. OSW Review has a video coming soon that will spell it all out for you, no pun intended. If you're going to defame the least-woke form of entertainment left on this planet because of one toxic childish Punk, then you'll never be able to enjoy anything ever.
Admission noted.
Tony Khan (spell it right) said everyone will get an opportunity. Whether they get POPULAR and thus CONTINUE to get TV time is another matter entirely. See Sonny Kiss.
"There is also a trans wrestler and a non-binary wrestler" that, again, NO ONE cares about. No one brings signs. No one buys their merch. No one chants their names. And since they signed deals in 2019, when AEW's TV show was first starting, at least one of them will be gone soon.
Tell me you don't watch the show without telling me you don't watch the show.
