Welcome to the reveal, they can't hide the truth so are playing it as "we thought it did help as we were worried for your safety but looks like it was a lie, wouldn't have done it if we knew the truth"

If you believe that tripe, I have a bridge to sell you. But if you were like me, didn't get any of it and waking up to the play they are trying to do to retain power, it's a hollow vindication being right, isn't it?
