Unfortunately you are correct, I've been noticing a weird wave of completely new accounts posting these kinds of posts for the past couple days. I have no idea what the posts are meant to accomplish however, maybe they're false flags as a mean of shutting us down? It's fishy but it's not like such a big internet event wouldn't be posted anyways.
It's not necessarily to shut us down. They may just want the site isolated and even more extreme to keep the drama (and anti-hate speech funding) going strong. They want to turn places into honeypots that they can direct to specific actions. When a site gets really hot and attracts media attention for inspiring some "hate crime", then they might sacrifice it and move on to another. Could also just be a network of bots someone is trying to build reputation with that they can then sell to people with agendas.
