There is a huge difference between "running interference" for something and defaming your opponents in order to encourage the restriction of their and everyone's free speech rights.

There is a huge difference between a promoting commonly accepted medical procedure (which I don't support, but it's been normal in America for a century) and turning children into eunuchs.
