Is that the one where he jerked off to her? It was wrong, but not rape. Not even close to rape. They needed the rape charge to justify all the other people they ruined. If he got off, MeToo probably would have died that day. Nobody would have believed anything a woman said again.

Rather where he admitted to groping or raping her, I think the former. Obviously, what you mention is not close to rape.
You do not understand how politics work. If he had gotten off (was that intentional), then it would only have intensified. They've decreed people guilty based on far less evidence. The line propagated by the media would be that if a monster as obviously guilty as Harvey Weinstein can be acquitted, then obviously there are too many protections for the accused.
Something like this happened in Canada. They simply restricted the rights of defendants to be able to get more convictions.
