I’ve brought this point up and it doesn’t seem to matter to them. 2020 annoyed me because the same people crying for 4 years that Trump wasn’t legitimate were saying that we need to trust elections and then we had the Jan 6 hand wringing. Plus I remember them saying Bush stole the election
By this point a lot of people have devolved completely to tribal political affiliation - it doesn't matter if the Biden administration does something the Trump administration did - they're Team Biden so it was bad when Trump did it and good when Biden did it.
I suspect the only way to resolve this will be to actually prosecute the various crimes of the Biden administration and show the world what he's actually been up to.
The Democrats constantly claimed and still claim that Trump stole the election in 2016, and Stacey Abrams still claims she had her election stolen even though that one wasn't even close.
Don't forget that they never accepted the legitimacy of Bush 43's victories either. The 2000 election is so notorious that nothing needs to be said. What most people forget/don't know is that is that the Dems peddled bullshit claims of voter fraud in Ohio in 2004. To this day John Kerry is convinced that Bush stole that election. You have to go back to 1988 to find a Republican victory that the Dems accept as legitimate, and even then they blame racism because of Bush 41's Willie Horton ad. So you have to go back to 1984 to find a Republicans victory that the Dems a) accept as legitimate and b) accept responsibility for their loss.
When someone is willing to listen (ie possibly on the fence but not a wokie) a good way to put this election legitimacy nonsense into perspective is to tell them the last time the Dems accepted the legitimacy of a Republican victory at the presidential level. For those of you playing along at home it was in 1988, and even then they blamed that on racism. Some things never change. The funny thing is that they used...wait for it...allegations of voter fraud in Ohio to deny the legitimacy of the 2004 election.
