There are numerous NPC litmus tests. Jordan Peterson. Trump. Russia. DeSantis. Pretty much anything the media has tried to make into Current Thing, and especially anything they've constructed a hate cult against.

If you bring up a Current Thing or Past Thing and the result is an immediate barrage of infantile name calling, that's an NPC. No thoughts are going on behind those dead eyes.
