I'm pretty much just setting up the theory around the idea that Trump's re-election is our last stand. If he loses, they'll just continue boiling the frog because he can't run again at the age he'll be.

Now that's an interesting question. If they cause an apocalypse out of sheer spite, we're technically both right.
