I never thought I'd live to see the day that the Right were the "cool" anti-establishment rebels. The Left has made that identity so core to itself that even when they're all wearing stormtrooper cosplay and kicking ewoks for being "heteronormative", they still keep claiming they're the rebels.
Reminds me of how the Chinese Communist Party banned all labor unions in China, using the logic that since the CCP claimed it was one giant labor union itself, that any attempts to form a "labor union" would be counter-revolutionary.
It's been leaning towards it for a while, especially in the OG "punk community" not whatever shit this stuff is now.
The movie SLC Punk is going on 24 years old at this point and that was the basis of the movie.
Iirc the main character ends up marrying a rich white conservative girl at the end of the movie when he realizes his former punk lifestyle was sold to him by the left corporate establishment.
