I doubt it'd be a totalitarian government, but I see the possibility for two scenarios in the extreme:

1. You might get extremely effective lone wolf attacks, the establishment so focused on optics and false flags have left themselves too open that a dedicated individual or even group could cause serious damage to them easily

2. There might be a push to just refuse any future budget or even funding anything federally. While we'd all love that it will accelerate the decline of cities so my advice, if this happens and yoy have anyone you care about living in or near a city, let them sleep on your couch for a while in small town or rural America, things will turn hot if welfare and unemployment are cut off...
