This is absolutely fucking retarded. They're getting sued for forfeiting games...by people affiliated with the teams they forfeited to.
They can forfeit for any reason. I personally think it's stupid that girls are playing football with the boys, but I'm also not going to be a hypocrite; I've always pointed out that "men's teams" are not male-only. If (big if) these girls can compete on merit (doubt), good for them. But I'm thinking this is some diversity push, and that sucks. I can also see how certain teams wouldn't want to face teams with girls on it.
It's sad. In a sane world, with consistently applied standards, any woman who made it onto the "men's team" wouldn't be a problem, since they made it there on merit. This would be rare-to-nonexistent, too, so wouldn't cause many problems for anyone who objected on their moral or religious grounds, either. But considering this is clownworld...maybe we do just need actual, explicitly male-only teams at this point. This current nonsense will hurt everyone; it hurts the integrity of the sport if standards are lowered for some players, it hurts people who don't want to fight girls on the field, and it will lead to girls getting potentially very seriously hurt as well.
I played on a fairly good football in high-school. We were known for hitting hard and were encouraged to do so except the time we played against a team with a girl on it. Like we were ruthless to the point that normal play had resulted in multiple broken bones throughout the year. We got stickers for laying people flat. All that went out the window because a girl was on the other team. Still won handily but there's no reason to handicap boys athletics like that
Bones shouldn't be getting broken, that's costing the families of the players money to have fixed, it could be a life ruining cost for most.
Then do not play football. That is a risk you take if you do not have the size and muscle to play. Football is not patty cake. If you do not or cannot hit the gym and learn proper form at practice then expect to get hurt by someone who has.
The potential costs and risks are still way too high for a school past time, especially considering that due to our child labor laws you couldn't even expect the kid to start paying off his medical debt to his parents while he still lives with them and is completely dependent on them.
Also this is a bit late but my state or at least my school did not allow you to play athletics without insurance. Although to be fair I did play my senior year with no insurance.
