If it was something completely irrelevant, OK.

But this would be like having a Black Pride event, or whatever, and removing black conservatives. "I am black" is a perfectly fine response to that. Even more when you are removed for being a lesbian, ass these were.

And yes, I find these "I am" as cringe as anyone, whether people have a point or not.
