Pfizer and BioNTech plan on obtaining an EUA for another corona-injection. This time the injection is bivalent (meaning the technology is trying to account for two types of spike protein). It will be a spectacular failure for those injected and may cause vaccine-associated enhanced disease. The press release is linked below:
I will be watching what the FDA/CDC does with this request for EUA. I think we all know the answer unfortunately.
Separately, Moderna is making their own bivalent injection.
Johnson & Johnson appears to have completely given up on their injection efforts, but the company still requires the injections for their employees as far as I know.
I don't know what the other injection manufacturers like AstraZeneca are doing.
You could be right. I think there's enough difference in the sales pitch (it's for a newer variant zomg!) compared to the boosters to get more people to take it. But I hope I'm wrong.
