I was looking back at the GTFO drama and noticed that reviews for that game that criticize Tencent got censored by Valve staff, including my own. Said review stated that the deal itself is a privacy and IT security risk because Tencent is a PRC company and thus legally required to bow to the demands of said dictatorship, including all subsidiaries.
My review text:
Even though they added matchmaking, the devs sold out to Tencent and have been caught censoring complaints related to this.
The reason the Tencent deal is bad is because said company is controlled by the dictatorship known as the Peoples Republic of China, meaning that due to the majority share by Tencent the devs must leak any data they have including sensitive information to said dictatorship on demand, or get the game stolen from them right under their feet. They may also be forced to add PRC spyware to the game as well.
Edit: If you want proof go to this thread, post about how Tencent is a security risk and archive it with archive.is, and watch your comment disappear without warning: https://steamcommunity.com/app/493520/discussions/0/5625537320598621172/
Valve when it still did Flash Sales and mega price cuts was when it was at its peak, ever since those days its been mostly "passable" with both criticized and liked actions over time.
The point isn't that it is great or not. Its that I've never seen a "valve is so perfect, luv u gaben" person actually exist. Only in the Epic Games Defense Force argument book does it ever come up.
I saw it plenty in the epic games debating. It wasn't a epic is worse it was valve does nothing wrong so why are you comparing them
I won't say you are wrong. But in my experience I've only ever seen Epicfags say that's what's happening, while in reality they are doing something like listing off Epic's faults and asking how does Epic even compare to be worth considering.
Shit homie, you took a meme as serious while even knowing it was a meme.
Ah yes, that thing that is taken so seriously by everyone. So much so that nearly every card is worth pennies at best and its more of a weird 3rd world money pyramid than anything people think of as legit.
Here is the thing, even if this person does exist (which they surely do), they aren't that common nor are they really relevant to any conversation because of how uncommon they are. What is relevant however is the moment you dare criticize Epic you are one. And if you don't immediately jump on a hate train against Valve, you are one.
The entire discussion well is poisoned because you can't simply dislike Epic on its own without being a Gabe sycophant, and you can't simply think someone's arguments are stupid without being a shill.
Alternatively, its just a joke that was being used to mock a group who then embraced it happily. You just keep playing it higher and higher to better serve the worldview you need.
I'll pass on any advice you offer, if it'll turn me into a mess like yourself.
