Probably is, I believe a ton of Steam "mods" end up taking more of the admin role, by Reddit standards, and I think there's a lot more of them, and they're more hands on.
Reddit, at least in theory, sits back and lets the sub mods do the actions. Steam mods just go around fucking every sub-forum up; they're a roving band of barbarians. At least with Reddit there are some subs you can escape to, at least mostly. On Steam, boy, you can't say anything even mildly controversial, or some mod will come along, whether or not the game devs want them to. It's insane.
I love the image lefties try to project, that Steam is some insane wild West where anything goes. It's incredibly restrictive.
that Steam is some insane wild West where anything goes
That applies to the store as well, and it's not just lefties spreading that nonsense. I'll often see people here or on c/Gaming saying "They USED to be strict but you can buy hardcore porn games on Steam now, anything goes". I can name a dozen banned games. Not saying they shouldn't have the right to sell what they want, but acting like it's a wild west is far from the truth.
It's a competition between them and Reddit.

Rules aren't actively enforced, but piss off someone who knows someone, and you'll get nuked from orbit. Sounds like the wild west to me.
nah ask tony or hat about how many comments the shadow trannies went for
