I remember the first season of altered carbon where the main guy was an Asian man (at least partially -- that show was hard to keep track of). But that wasn't woke enough so they replaced him with a black guy.

Maybe this one? But I agree, Altered Carbon S1 was pretty cool and then it jumped the woke shark like everything else.
