Libtard liar. The libs used the same tactics against the Florida bill aimed at stopping them from talking about sex with kids, which they falsely called the "don't say gay" bill and made up all sorts of lies about what unreasonable restrictions it imposed on them.
Okay so that is for school LIBRARIES, not individual teachers. Can the libtards cite any law at work here? no.
So the law does not require any of that. If her school is doing that, and I refuse to believe it is based solely on "Sydney's" tiktok, then that is a voluntary policy not a legal requirement.
actual law summary below:
“Age-Appropriate Materials Act of 2022,”
https://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB2407
Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, the bill requires each school operated by an LEA and each public charter school to maintain a current list of the materials in the school's library collection and have the list posted on the school's website.
This bill requires each local board of education and public charter school governing body to adopt a policy for developing and reviewing school library collections by the 2022-2023 school year. The policy must include:
(1) A procedure for the development of a library collection at each school that is appropriate for the age and maturity levels of the students who may access the materials, and that is suitable for, and consistent with, the educational mission of the school;
(2) A procedure for the local board of education or public charter school governing body to receive and evaluate feedback from a student, a student’s parent or guardian, or a school employee regarding one or more of the materials in the library collection of the student's or employee's school; and
(3) A procedure to periodically review the library collection at each school to ensure that the school's library collection contains materials appropriate for the age and maturity levels of the students who may access the materials, and that is suitable for, and consistent with, the educational mission of the school.
This bill requires a local board of education or public charter school governing body to evaluate each material for which feedback is provided to determine whether the material is appropriate; if the material is not appropriate, then the school must remove the material from the library collection.
Shes just doing it because she chooses to do it.
