I mean, it fits with his veto a few weeks ago to cross the aisle and support the NOW.

I don't agree, I think only reading it the latter way is grammatically correct.

Earlier, this guy claimed that Trump could not possibly have "crossed the aisle", because he was not a legislator.

Yet DeSantis did so, according to him, despite not being one either. He has superhuman powers, that absolute madman.
