I don't think it's fair for Theodore Roosevelt to be clapping for Obama. TR was a progressive, but he was basically an American Nationalist Progressive that hyper-focused on the idea of the individual bringing himself up. He probably would have called Obama a weak pussy, and told that guy to kick his ass.

Lincoln at my most charitable would have stood on the constitution and claimed he was forced into it, though a big portion of his policies were heavy protectionism for Americans.
