Throughout most of human history, conquered people were treated much more harshly than they were by the Christian nations that conquered much of the world. In fact, those very same conquered people would never have been so kind to Christian nations if the situations were reversed.

It was the actions of a multitude of humans, not gods, mainly white British ones, that led to any level of weakening of the practice of slavery directly, combined with advances in technology that made using slaves a financially inferior model for anything except sexual services (and the only reason that one isn't being undermined by superior technology is puritanism keeping product development slower).
Your grandstanding would make more sense in a Christian vs Paganistic or Islamic debate, since the one allows for the concept of no slaves versus the other two which have it entwined within their cultural cores.
