Yeah, a bunch of people on YT were "recreating" the shot; most of the (trained) people I saw could do it; they could put 8+ rounds on target within ten seconds...but that's a completely different thing.
You know you're about to draw your gun and start shooting, you know the target you're shooting at is a steel plate that won't be shooting back, you know you don't have to worry about putting bullets in innocents near the target, and you know your shots don't mean the difference between life and death for - potentially - dozens of strangers.
You're absolutely correct that training and real world are two completely different things. Amazing shooting from Dicken.
I don't think they are trying to claim they could have done what he did; they are just adding another drill to their training regimen. Most people don't train for 40 yd shots with their carry pistol at all. That's usually considered target shooting, not practical training, which is why there is a buzz with this drill.
"If you can't do this simplified drill under ideal circumstances, you have little chance of doing it in the real world"
Yeah, and plenty of people were pretty good about laying that out, but I saw some as well that weren't talking about adrenalin or anything. Agreed, though, most handled it pretty well.
