What is your personal theory about Jan 6. I am curious no matter how wild it may sound. I remember when it happened I figured some over zealous Trump supporters got out of hand. I never dreamed there would be this insane level of hysteria over it. I was initially shocked about the hand wringing over this after seeing the destruction of the summer of love as well as seeing other groups protesting at or in the capital. It is hard for me to take seriously the idea that it was an insurrection because if their goal was to take over the government that was a pretty lousy effort and same goes for Trump. Plus you got people still in jail over this.
What do y'all think is behind all this? I also find it odd how there is no curiosity about Ray Epps.
There are some questions on why security was not tightened and the protestors were allowed in, it is also suspected that FBI agents were on scene.
Trump may have been out of office but he was successful enough, he was unapologetically pro-America, anti-immigration, anti-identity politics, anti-SJW woke nonsense etc. Trump may have been defeated but he opened the door for others to campaign on this things.
Unfortunately for the Democrats, the big scary protestors were a group of funny, likable patriots walking around the capitol building and being mildly disrespectful. It did not help that the only victim, outside of AOC, was a protestor.
Since they had little coming November they decided to go ahead with the initial plan of using January 6, maybe they could not destroy the image of Trump but at least they may win in November. There was no reason not to go ahead with the totally not biased hearings.
