Owning slaves is a right according to Christianity, Islam, Judaism, zoroastrinism, and several other religions. Not one cherry-picked line from one book of one religion that you need a liberal arts and gymnastics degree to twist and turn it into maybe kinda supporting it, it's really wide-spread, because the barbaric practice in question was commonplace when the works were written.
