The politicians don't care because they're just the pets of Wall St. bankers, and need their campaign contributions and insider trading information.

The Wall St. bankers have long figured out that they can still make money on a decline, whether the decline is an individual business or an entire economy. Plus, since they're globalists, they'll just move onto another area once the West is ruined.
