It pisses me off more because the government actively passed laws and regulations a few generations ago to remove French from the local offices and signs in Louisiana. Wherein a huge chunk of the population spoke only Cajun French. Which meant now everyone was forced to speak English to survive, and pushed the language into the dying territory it is now because there wasn't anywhere to use it outside the home.
