Trump apparently didn't pardon Assange or Snowden because McConnell coldly told him that Trump would be convicted in the Senate during the second impeachment if he pardoned them.

Trump DEEPLY fears the deep state. I don't think McConnell is why he didn't pardon them, I think Trump was afraid of what the CIA/Homeland bureaucrats would do to him.

If Trump loses the primary, McConnell will tell him what happens to him if he runs third party and that will be the end of that.

I agree. Trump not only has to worry about endless Democrat attempts to vindictively prosecute him, he also has major entrenched financial interests that could be targeted by various vindictive politicians.
