I don't have a problem with someone hating the US- you don't get to choose where you are born.

Neither do I, if they are foreigners (not a fan of the US myself). But I think anyone who is an American should love his country, and the same for every other country. Chadians should love Chad.

It's true that you don't pick your country. But you also do not pick your parents, siblings and children. Yet even if I saw some really annoying brat that I hated, I would be rather disturbed if the parents said that they do not love him. Same for countries.
