Hiring a mentally ill patsy to poison thousands of people through either incompetence or malice just to smear nuclear power would certainly be a very Current Year thing to do.

From what little I know about this creature, I can almost guarantee that it's going to try to divert all the nuclear waste to Texas and/or Florida because those are the states the TV is telling it to hate. If there's a rash of sudden, inexplicable deaths in a deep red state in the near future, we'll know why.
